The Art of Time Management Video Games

Have you played time management games before? If you haven't, then you are lucky because I will be discussing some facts about time management games and how it can help you in real life.
Time management games usually involve running an event, business or any state of affairs where you are required to reach or complete a certain goal within the allotted time. If you fail to do so, you will have to restart the game or the level until you are able to accomplish the given task and then you can proceed to the next one. However, seeing that this can really take the player's time and would really take the charm of the game, some game developers designed games that allow the player to proceed to the next level even if he or she fails to accomplish the task at the preceding level within the specified time; however, certain status, rank or award is given. For example, if you get a score beyond the requirement or accomplished the task before the time runs out, you will be given an "expert" status or a gold award for doing a good job. You can then have the option to either proceed to the next level or restart the level to get a better score or standing.

The concept of time management games is to make people realize that it is really possible to carry out multiple tasks in a specified time only if you know how to manage your time and how to sort out the activity that needs to be undertaken. So basically, there is also an element of strategy. You need to figure out what job that needs to be carried out first or what jobs that you can do at the same time. Most of the time multitasking is required and can really help you score better. Some games require timing and balance.

Some examples of great time management games that I played before are Jack of All Tribes, Mall-a-Palooza, My Kingdom for the Princess, and Pyramid Rising. These games are very engaging and you can really expect to feel a bit pressured at times when the tasks given become very challenging and you only have little time left. You probably would like to restart some levels or replay the entire game again and apply a different strategy to improve your performance, score or status because doing that can really give you a sense of fulfillment when you really see yourself making an improvement and doing or completing the tasks beyond the expected performance.

I believe that people can really learn a lot from this kind of game especially those who are having problem managing their time. They can really apply the concept of the game into their real life and playing these games will be a good exercise for them. Not only this is a good practice for them but it is also one way of learning something while having great fun at the same time.
